Chris Christenson is a living legend who continues to drive the San Diego fish movement, is arguably the world's best big-wave gun shaper, and consistently creates masterpiece mid-lengths and twin fins.

The "THE CLIFF" longboard model by Christenson Surfboards, which has its roots in the designs of California legend Phil Edwards who took the surfing world by storm in the 60s, has been perfectly replicated with a soft-top and EPS core.

At first glance, it looks like a classic log with a pointed nose and pin tail. However, its essence is a speed shape that incorporates elements of both a glider and a nose rider, exquisitely enhanced with Chris’s signature modern updates.

Featuring three bamboo stringers, it provides the perfect amount of weight and flex to achieve a ride quality comparable to a PU surfboard. From beach breaks to sizable reefs, this is a board that lets you experience the true essence of longboarding—offering speed, trim, and glide that you wouldn't expect from a soft-top.

Available in three lengths: 9'0", 9'5", and 9'11".

Shaped using world-class AKU Shaper technology

Shaped using world-class AKU Shaper technology, the EPS foam—which faithfully reproduces bottom concaves—is coated with double fiberglass for maximum durability.

Wax-on type IXPE material that avoids soft-top friction

The exterior features 4mm-thick IXPE foam on the deck and an HDPE skin on the bottom, with the soft surface created using vacuum bag technology.
Since we use IXPE material that does not cause soft-top friction, we recommend using wax.

About fin screws

While your own fin screws may work, they can occasionally be difficult to tighten, so we recommend using the included fin screws.

Before use

If exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods, bubbles may form on the board, or the color may fade. Store the board in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not leave it in a car for long periods. Due to the nature of the materials used in soft boards, some water absorption is normal and not a defect. This water usually drains out after use.

Maintenance

After use, always rinse the board with fresh water to remove dirt, sand, and salt, wipe it down with a clean cloth or towel, and store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not use solvents or cleaners on the board.
Before storing it in a board bag or sock, rinse the board with fresh water, wipe it clean, and let it dry.

If you need to mount it on a car roof rack before the water has finished draining, a thin waterproof cover that only covers the top is convenient. It prevents water from dripping off the board and helps it dry. Remove the cover to drain once you get home.

About color unevenness on the deck

In rare cases, you may receive a board with slight color unevenness on the deck. This occurs during the manufacturing process and does not affect performance or ride quality, so please be assured. While we ship boards with as little color unevenness as possible, please note that we cannot accept returns or exchanges based on color unevenness.
